Engaging high-ability students in purposeful learning experiences is a challenging task in day’s diverse Spanish classrooms. This session will provide an overview of selected methods of Gifted Education that have been proven as effective for differentiating with gifted students when learning Spanish as a second language. Additionally, I will engage participants in actively applying the concepts of depth, complexity, novelty, and differentiation in some of the units they will be teaching in the near future. Implementation, insights, and implications for student achievement will be discussed as well.
